*Reaching out from the golf course
Urban landscape, limited options
Urban young people today are faced with a myriad of social hurdles. Many fall victim to these challenges because of limited options and opportunities. What’s worse is the realization that, far too often, many young people never have a chance to cultivate their potential.Because of a lack of exposure many of these same young people never consider golf as an option. Perceived barriers of entry along with a general disconnection keep many away from the course.
Taking the game into new golf territory
So, is it like other golf programs?
The traditions & rules of golf are based on concepts like honesty, integrity, and etiquette. These same elements are also the basis of sound personal character. Character that can be the foundation for future success.
Our program is set up to be fun & flexible for for the students. It's designed to help eliminate barriers of entry by:
Hopefully many that complete our program will become golfers. Sixtyone will connect them with on-course golf programs where they can continue to develop their swings. However, even if they do not pursue the game, by simply learning the rules and traditions of golf they will pick up valuable lessons that reinforce the value of discipline, honesty, perseverance, integrity, and other personal assets that will assist them as they move through their lives.
That can't be bad.

Graduation & beyond
At its core the Academy is using golf as a launching pad to future success. All graduates will learn that they have choices and that there are resources available for them if they’re willing to work hard. They will also be supported by a network of mentors available to help provide them with guidance and encouragement.Hopefully many that complete our program will become golfers.
